Death Becomes Her (1992)
If you enjoy movies that combine dark sides of society, an amazing cast and are a bit revolting then this dark comedy may be the one for your weekend!
The script is perfect with just the right amount of humor and darkness. The movie is ruthless in its satire with the sociopathic nature of the main characters; instead of making fun of female leads, it portrays by-products of the impossible beauty standards of society.
The movie is so scary, it’s hilarious. It breaks rules and makes new ones to the point that a gaping hole in a person’s stomach with water leaking from it will make you laugh at the ludicrousness.
Dead Poets Society (1989)
There are few movies as revered as this one. Once we filter through the veneer of privilege, many students and even people can relate to this film. Whether you are a student or simply someone trying to make their mark in the world, the process of learning to emerge from the shadow of expectations portrayed in the film is something everyone will appreciate.
After all, we could all use some of Carpe Diem!
